■           MANAGED THE START-UP OF ONE OF THE LARGEST RETAIL FACILITIES IN THE NATION VALUED AT $140M.

–          Awarded additional contract for the build-out of a 5-story, 4,900-car parking garage. Successfully bought-out and started construction of the 550,000 square-foot retail showroom and a 1.3 million square-foot warehouse.

■           DIRECTED 2-YEAR, 32-PHASE $30M PROJECT TO MODIFY EXISTING FACILITIES WHILE INTERFACING WITH $500M PROJECT TO CONSTRUCT NEW TOWER FOR THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY WEXNER CANCER CENTER.

–          Planned and led the multi-phase renovation of existing facilities and the construction of active loading dock, security offices, central sterile supply, gas bottle storage, ED AHU, bridge tie-ins, concourse, and new hospital main entrance.

■           LED THE $20M, 17-PHASE RENOVATION PROJECT AT WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE HOSPITAL, CORPS OF ENGINEERS PROJECT, UNDER BUDGET AND ON-SCHEDULE WHILE MAINTAINING SURROUNDING HOSPITAL OPERATIONS.

–          Collaborated with client’s facility managers, engineers, and project managers to renovate the emergency department, cancer treatment center, surgical and medical inpatient wings, a family birthing center and an auditorium.

 

Special Projects Manager, 2007-2008

Chosen to re-establish and manage the Special Projects Division in Columbus, Ohio. Recruited staff, established relationships with customers and subcontractors, captured contracts, and ensured the on-time and quality delivery of interior renovation projects for multiple clients.

Chosen for large-scale $985M project with Cincinnati Public School System. Given full P&L responsibility for the build-out and expansion of 12 schools with a total value of $210M. Managed efforts of superintendents and project engineers.

■           HELD COMPLETE OVERSIGHT FOR THE ON-TIME AND WITHIN-BUDGET DELIVERY OF PROJECTS FOR ROCKDALE, MIDWAY, ROLL HILL, CHEVIOT, HAYS, BOND HILL, FAIRVIEW, PLEASANT RIDGE AND CARSON, RIVERVIEW EAST, SHRODER, AND WITHROW SCHOOLS.

–          Provided strategic leadership for multiple, simultaneous projects, from initial definition of project scopes, schedules, and budgets through successful completion.

Preconstruction Manager, 2000-2004

Chosen by leadership to assume role as Preconstruction Manager to gain expertise with architectural and structural estimating, while providing preconstruction services. Collaborated with owners, architects, and state agencies to establish budgets, conduct value engineering, define preconstruction schedules and prequalify subcontractors. Created and presented schematic, design development, and construction document estimates to architects and owners. Evaluated and recommended bids from contractors for projects with a combined value of $170M. Managed mechanical and electrical estimators.

■           BASED ON SUCCESSFUL ROLES AS PROJECT ENGINEER FOR THE $25m lOYOLA uNIVERSITY CANCER CENTER AND PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT FOR THE $2m ADDITION TO THEIR mEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING, WAS PROMOTED TO PROJECT MANAGER FOR A $3.5m PROJECT FOR rESURRECTION MEDICAL CENTER.

–          Recognized for building relationships with facilities and medical staff, defining and managing budgets, negotiating with subcontractors, and driving the multi-phase renovation and construction of a dialysis center, cardiology center, radiology offices, physician’s lounge, lobby, CT scan facility, medical office building, 2 nursing facilities, and a chapel.

■           PROJECT ENGINEER FOR CONSTRUCTION OF $27m project to build a landmark FACILITY FOR THE ILLINOIS STATE TOLLWAY ADMINISTRATION.

–          Brought in to help restore project financials and delivery in response to scope gaps and a few subcontractors going out-of-business. Negotiated contracts with replacement contractors, and managed changes with client.

■           PROJECT ENGINEER for $25m STATE-OF-THE-ART MATERNAL CHILD AND HEALTHCARE FACILITY FOR eVANSTON hOSPITAL.

–          Partnered with design professionals to tightly coordinate building adjacencies and connections to the existing hospital. Defined and monitored schedules, coordinated drawings and details, reviewed and negotiated changes, and led the phased turnover of multi-year project for healthcare provider.

Project Engineer
